Late Starting Courses

Advance your academic goals quickly in an intensive, concentrated schedule that earns you more credits during a semester.

Add another class to your current semester schedule to fulfill financial aid or scholarship requirements.

Late Starting Courses are counted in the student's total credit hours for the preceding semester. They are offered between the last Friday of the term and the Sunday prior to the start of the next term. There are no additional tuition costs incurred for students whose full time status will be unchanged by the addition of Late Starting Courses: their Fall or Spring semester course load must equal at least 12 credit hours (without an additional Late Starting Course) and their total will not exceed 18 credit hours with the addition of Late Starting Course enrollment(s). Note: This does not include course fees — students will be responsible for any course fees charged by the academic department offering a Late Starting Course.

A selection of university core and upper division course electives are offered through Arts and Sciences and the Department of Communication and Journalism. View the Spring 2015 Late-Starting Courses here.

Locations

In addition to the classes offered on main campus, some branch campuses and UNM West may also offer late-starting courses. A small selection of online courses may also be offered in the late-starting time frame.
